About

The foundation behind EarthMine

EarthMine is an initiative of Black Diamond Project Corp, an IRS-listed 501(c)(3) private foundation. We exist to turn abandoned and idle mining hardware into a transparent force for measurable public benefit.

Who we are

Mining hardware deserves honest purpose.

When vendors disappear, when mining capacity sits idle, when hardware is locked to a network that no longer exists, owners lose both the hardware and the ability to repurpose it. EarthMine gives that hardware a real job again.

What we do

We operate a clean-genesis proof-of-work network that accepts connections from mining hardware owners who want to put their equipment to work without surrendering control of it. In exchange for pointing your miner at us, a verified share of every block mined goes directly to a vetted nonprofit recipient, recorded transparently on a public ledger.

Why it matters

Most mining pools are opaque. They can quietly command the miners connected to them. EarthMine is built on the opposite principle: we never send control, reconnect, or shutdown commands to your hardware. Connecting to EarthMine cannot be used against you. That restraint is the entire design.

Why EarthMine exists

A problem with three parts.

Hardware vendors vanish

Manufacturers of mining equipment periodically fail or disappear. When they do, their owners are left with hardware that is locked to vendor pools and networks that no longer exist. The hardware still works, but the owner has no way to repurpose it without starting over from scratch.

Mining capacity sits idle

Equipment that is not stranded is often simply idle. Economics shift, facilities close, or owners pause operations. That hardware continues to have real computational value, but without an honest way to use it, it stays warehoused or scrapped.

Impact needs structure

Making hardware useful again is not enough. The impact it generates needs to be real, measurable, and auditable. A mining pool can claim to donate revenue, but that claim lives in a marketing document. EarthMine builds impact into the protocol itself, so it cannot be promised and then abandoned.

Part of a family

EarthMine is one initiative of Black Diamond Project Corp.

All Black Diamond initiatives share the same commitment to transparency, owner control, and measurable public benefit.

All Black Diamond Project Corp initiatives operate as separate programs under a single 501(c)(3) foundation (EIN 39-3942392). Each initiative is independently governed but shares core principles of transparency, legal clarity, and measurable public benefit.

How we operate

Principles that cannot be voted on.

These commitments are structural, not aspirational. They are built into how we operate, not held as promises that may change.

Clear scope

We state what we do and what we do not do. No mission creep, no vague promises.

Source labeling

Every claim is traceable. Impact data is public and auditable. You can verify what we say.

No overclaiming

We measure impact conservatively. An honest 5% impact share is better than a marketing promise of more.

Owner control

Your hardware stays yours. The pool cannot command it, redirect it, or shut it down without your action.
